The Sainsbury’s Living Well Index
This report introduces the headline findings from a major new project on the nation’s wellbeing. As part of the work, we have analysed the results of a representative adult survey of Great Britain, gathered by NatCen Social Research, with 60 questions covering a wide range of topics across people’s everyday habits and experiences. Through this dataset we have identified the factors that are best able to explain how we feel about our lives. These were weighted together to form the inaugural Living Well Index for Great Britain – a landmark measure that will be updated on an ongoing basis every six months.
