State of Security 2025

In collaboration with Splunk

Oxford Economics and Splunk surveyed over 2,000 security professionals around the globe—including directors, managers, analysts, and engineers—to understand how organizations across industries are building a smarter, more resilient Security Operations Center (SOC).

Our findings reveal that many SOCs are impeded by major inefficiencies, such as excessive tool maintenance, alert overload, and data gaps. A select group of respondents have found a way to reduce these negative effects by using security tools effectively. They champion forward-looking strategies and implement cutting edge technologies to boost productivity and stay ahead of attackers.

This report invites readers to explore how security teams are preparing for the next generation of cyber threats, and what it takes to build the SOC of the future.
