Enterprise AI Maturity Index 2025

The second iteration of ServiceNow’s Enterprise AI Maturity Index is based on a comprehensive survey of nearly 4,500 executives worldwide, assessing organizational performance across five key dimensions of AI maturity. Using principal component analysis (PCA), the report provides standardized scores to offer a clear picture of global AI maturity, highlighting the methodologies and metrics used to evaluate AI integration and effectiveness.

When the first AI Maturity Index study was conducted in early 2024, organizations were just beginning to understand the potential of generative AI to deliver better, faster experiences for customers and employees. One year later, emerging tools such as agentic AI have entered the fold – fueling transformation and setting new standards for innovation across the enterprise.

The 2025 Enterprise AI Maturity Index report, based on a comprehensive survey of nearly 4,500 executives worldwide, shows the current state of AI integration across various industries. Despite a notable decline in overall AI maturity scores from last year’s iteration, the 2025 report identifies a select group of Pacesetter companies that are successfully leveraging AI to drive significant economic benefits. These Pacesetters offer a roadmap to AI excellence for other organizations, showcasing how strategic AI deployment can enhance productivity, efficiency, and innovation in an environment where the stakes have never been higher.

Readers will discover valuable insights into how leading companies are navigating the challenges of AI adoption and the potential economic impact of implementing more advanced strategies. Our AI Maturity assessment also gives individuals the opportunity to benchmark their own organization’s maturity against the best of the best in our survey.
