Growing confidence and easing perceptions of challenges in tourism

Tourism Economics’ latest Travel Industry Monitor (TIM), a quarterly survey among tourism professionals conducted in Q4 2023, identified strong expectations of growth in 2024 and beyond.

What you will learn:

  • While staffing issues and cost-related concerns remain significant, the overall perception of barriers to growth was reduced compared with previous findings.
  • Bleisure tourism, leisure events, and new investment were again highlighted as key levers for growing tourism.
  • Overall sentiment improved compared with the previous survey in Q3 2023. Around three-quarters (73%) were confident about tourism growth in their country over the next two years.
