Planning for 2027: Building Resilient Strategy in a Volatile World

20 October 2026
    2 sessions:
  • 20 October 2026 – 11.00am EDT (New York/ 4pm London)
  • 20 October 2026 – 3.00pm HKT (Hong Kong)
online

As the 2027 planning season moves into full swing, regional and global teams are facing an unusually difficult challenge: setting credible targets, defending resource needs, making investment decisions against a backdrop of persistent volatility. Our analysts will outline the key risks and opportunities shaping the global economy in 2027 and what multinational companies can do now to strengthen planning, protect margins, and allocate resources more effectively.

We will examine the key forces shaping the global business environment and what they mean for multinational strategy and planning. The session will help you and your team understand where your region sits within the global context, pressure-test key planning assumptions, and build a stronger fact base for discussions with corporate leadership and boards. We will examine how several major forces are likely to affect the year ahead, including continued disruption from the Middle East conflict, shifts in US trade, regulatory and foreign policy, sustained pricing pressure from China’s export-led growth model, and renewed inflation risks. As these pressures play out differently across markets, planning will require a more localized approach.

We will address several of the questions executives should be asking now:

  • Are your forecasts and scenarios resilient to prolonged conflict and renewed energy and logistics volatility?
  • Where is Chinese competition most likely to intensify, and what does that mean for pricing and margins?
  • Are your assumptions prepared for renewed inflationary pressure and uneven demand?
  • Do your regional priorities, pricing strategies, and supply chains reflect persistent disruption rather than a return to stability?
