Infographic: trends in office employment growth (2023-2027)

In this infographic, our focus is on one of the key questions facing the world’s cities: the extent to which office employment will or will not continue to drive total employment going forward.

What you will learn:

  • Whereas pre-pandemic, the Asia Pacific cities with the largest increases in office employment were all Chinese, going forward many of them are likely to be Indian, with Mumbai set to see more than half a million additional office jobs in the 2023-27 period.
  • London stands as a titan in the European office employment landscape. However, in terms of growth, watch for Stockholm and Amsterdam to surge ahead.
  • The US, however, stands out. Our forecast for office employment in the nation’s 50 largest metros is weaker than our forecast for total employment, partly because of lay-offs this year in tech and recent banking sector problems.
