Metros that have lagged others in the pace of the recovery thus far will see the fastest growth in 2022, but the medium-term outlook favours the tech-heavy metros. Employment growth rates for most US metros are expected to remain healthy in 2022, but then decelerate in 2023 through 2026 in line with pre-pandemic averages.
