You will be a key member of the team responsible for producing economic research for the Asia real estate market, a newly created area within the company.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Real Estate Economics, you will lead our forecast and research on Asian real estate. Developing research ideas and helping to produce the real estate forecast as part of our new Real Estate Economics services, this is an exciting opportunity in a fast growing part of the company.You will also be required to present to clients and field their queries in the first instance.

You will be looking primarily at Asian markets from a top-down macro perspective, based on the broader context of Oxford Economics’ macroeconomic forecasts and investment strategy house views. Collaborating with our global and regional macro teams will be a central part of your role as well as the ability and willingness to perform deeper dives into individual real estate markets.

You have a flair for good writing and are a confident presenter who enjoys presenting innovative research and can build strong client relationships over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the Asia real estate forecast
  • Overseeing the evolution of Oxford Economics’ top down real estate products
  • Writing analytical research and presenting real estate research themes
  • Interacting with clients/prospects, presenting at client events
  • Burden sharing in the team’s routine tasks associated with the publishing process.
Person Specification

The profile, orientation and skills that you will bring to the team include:

The role would suit someone who is rigorous, creative and entrepreneurial, with a strong track record in undertaking model-based analysis for Canada and/or its Provinces. Attributes of the successful candidate will include the following: 

  • Three or more years experience as an economist with an emphasis on Asian real estate
  • Strong track record in forecasting and writing research reports to tight deadlines
  • Excellent academic training with a degree in real estate economics/Finance – a top Master’s or a PhD will help you stand out.
