Business Development Manager, Consulting Services, EMEA

Oxford Economics, the leading global economic research and consultancy firm, is looking to hire a Business Development Manager (BDM) to sit within the consulting business development team in EMEA.

This is a hybrid position (a mixture of hunting for new logos and farming existing relationships) and will be a strategic pillar supporting the organization’s growth strategy for Europe, plus an exciting opportunity for personal development.

It is intended that the role shall be full-time and based in London, although there may be flexibility for a suitable candidate.

Responsibilities

Develop a strong knowledge of relevant consulting services (macro consulting, economic impact, cities & regions, industries, and thought leadership) with the purpose of:

Expanding and deepening Oxford’s business relationships in 3 industry verticals:

  • Consumer (including FMCG and Retail)
  • Transport (including Freight, Distribution and Logistics)
  • Financial Services

And retaining and expanding roughly 6-8 accounts, spread across EMEA, designated as having significant growth potential.

This will involve:

  • Working closely with sales and production team stakeholders to create a tailored sector & account strategy, and engaging internal resource as appropriate
  • Providing an open assessment, involving the development of metrics, on the condition of the financial and operational relationship with designated clients
  • Monitoring and feeding back on the competitive situation
  • Maintaining internal systems as required, e.g. Salesforce
Requirements

The culture of the team is entrepreneurial, and places emphasis on speed and momentum. We are looking for an individual with:

  • Significant experience (10 years+) selling a complex product/set of products in a B2B environment, ideally with an economics/financial/consultancy flavor
  • A demonstrable record of success hitting/exceeding a material quota
  • Ability to navigate a matrixed organization internally
  • Ability to navigate large accounts, often with multiple stakeholders
  • Credible in front of a C-suite audience
  • Additional languages desirable, not essential
