New home sales more than reversed February’s weather-related decline in March, soaring 20.7% to a saar of 1.02mn, the strongest pace of sales since August 2006. Despite strong demand, we don’t expect the March pace of sales to be sustained as high home prices will take a toll on affordability. We look for new home sales to decline to a saar of about 825,000 by Q4 2021.
