Canadian businesses plan to increase capital spending in 2021 but will not fully make up for last year’s pandemic-induced plunge. Nominal public and private non-residential investment is expected to rise 7% in 2021, after falling 9.2% in 2020 according to Statistics Canada’s survey of investment intentions.
