Negotiations on a new fiscal package made little headway this week. Senate Republicans have floated the idea of a limited deal to extend unemployment benefits and an eviction moratorium, but Democrats have rejected the move. Despite the partisan acrimony, we still expect a $1.5-2 trillion package to pass before lawmakers take their summer break at the end of next week.
