Treasury Secretary Mnuchin revealed the outline of Republicans’ opening bid in negotiations over the next round of fiscal stimulus for later this month. New checks to households, but with a lower income cutoff, and extended jobless benefits, but at a less generous rate, are among the proposals. Mnuchin was reticent about support for state and local governments, but did not rule it out.
