The labor market recovery likely gathered pace in June amid a firm initial bounce in economic activity. We estimate that nonfarm payrolls rose by 4.3mn, but sadly, the expected payroll gain will only represent another small step on the road to recovery as seven out of ten laid-off workers would still be unemployed in June.
