Inner Brisbane Apartments 2020-2027

The Inner Brisbane Apartment (IBA) area was poised to return to a balanced market at the start of 2020 after some years of moderate oversupply. However, fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic means that oversupply will worsen, not improve, near term. We forecast marked falls in rents and prices this year and next. We don’t expect the market to return to balance until FY23, at which point a solid recovery in rents and prices can be expected.
