As lockdowns ease, consumer recovery to be delayed

Lockdowns and social distancing crushed discretionary consumer spending across economies in March and April. While consumption should start to recover as restrictions are eased, for 2020 as a whole consumer spending globally is still likely to be 5%-10% lower than in 2019.
