Global: Recession risks ease, but 2020 growth will be tepid

Signs that global growth may stabilise in early 2020 have calmed fears that the current slowdown will morph into a full-blown recession. Activity data over recent months have mostly evolved as we expected, and some uncertainties have ebbed. As a result, we have lowered our global recession probability for 2020 to 25% from 30%.
