Strong population growth and a prevailing stock deficiency is expected to hold up residential approvals. However, the outlook remains slightly muted as economic growth softens and new supply comes onto the market. High construction costs and capacity constraints is expected to hold back growth for non-residential construction in work done terms through to 2021. However, the level of total construction over the forecast period still remains elevated supported by a healthy pipeline of work and robust demand.
