Ruling nationalists maintain absolute majority

After four years in government, Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party (PiS) maintained its absolute majority in yesterday’s parliamentary elections. But having missed a constitutional majority of 2/3 of votes, a monopolisation of political power and the risk of a clash with the EU Commission was averted.
