Global: The “reversal rate” of interest may be lower than you think

The “reversal interest rate” – the point at which further cuts in the policy rate do more harm than good – varies over time and is difficult to measure. On balance, we think that the ECB and other central banks have not crossed this line yet and may have room to push rates deeper into negative territory.
