Maintenance > Report
Road maintenance in Australia grew strongly in FY17 & FY18 but is estimated to have held steady in FY19 in real terms (constant prices). We expect activity to decline in FY20, driven lower by a decrease in Federal funding to local government. However, we expect this to be short lived, with activity expected to grow steadily through to FY24. Overall, we expect the level of road maintenance in real terms to grow by 1.7% per annum over the five years to FY24. Annual activity will average $7.8 billion over the five years to FY24, around $770m higher per annum than the average annual spend over the five years to FY19.
