QE giveth to stock markets and QT taketh away

According to our modelling, quantitative easing (QE) has provided support for the stock markets in four of the world’s major economies, with Japan’s stock markets benefitting the most followed closely by the US. QE programmes in the eurozone and UK have had a much milder effect on markets.
