Long Term Forecasts 2019 - 2033

​Our latest Long Term Forecasts release takes stock of Australia's current economic cycle, the external environment, the major risks to the economy, and our expectations for the economy over the medium term. The Australian economy faces some considerable headwinds from further falls in LNG-related mining construction, a downturn in dwelling investment and softer momentum in consumption. But these will be offset by strengthening non-mining business investment, exports and government spending on both infrastructure projects and provision of services. Over the long run, the ageing population, lower levels of migration and a moderation in productivity growth relative to history will lower Australia's trend growth rate.
