Markets have certainly begun to take a rather more pessimistic view on the global growth outlook. Indeed, at face value, the near inversion of the US yield curve and the Q3 contractions in five advanced economies, which include externally-sensitive Japan, Germany, Sweden and Switzerland, are a worry. But we think that fears that the global expansion is on its last legs are overdone.
