As of today, the US administration is imposing 25% tariffs on $34 billion of imported goods from China. This is the first tranche in a total of $50 billion of targeted imports by the US administration. Nearly all targeted products are intermediate goods or capital goods with only 1% being consumer goods. China will retaliate in “equal scale, equal intensity” with 25% tariffs on US agricultural, autos and seafood exports.
