In our global macro chartbook for March, we summarise our views on current global themes and asset markets, and link to our research highlights over the last month.
This month, our key theme is risks from rising economic protectionism. We analyse in detail the global impact of an escalation in protectionist trade measures, though we view this particular scenario as a tail risk. We remain positive about the outlook for global growth and sceptical about any near-term inflation surge.
We also highlight our work on the maturing of the business cycle, the persistent fall in the US dollar and the structural factors weighing on global investment.
