Trade surplus falls back in July

The trade balance fell to a $460 million surplus in July, a further decline from the historically high levels seen in the first three months of 2017. Exports fell 2.2%, driven down by non-rural goods, which dropped 3.2%. In contrast, rural goods continued to perform strongly, with a 2.3% rise on the month, and services bounced back from their dip in June, increasing by 2.6% m/m.
