Help

Answers for the most common questions about Oxford Economics' services and software

We continually update our analytical platforms to provide new ways to access and view our data and forecasts. Recent improvements include:

Global Models

Our proprietary modelling platform provides a rigorous and consistent structure for forecasting, impact research, and scenario analysis. Our user-friendly, Windows-based software makes it easy to change economic assumptions to produce new forecasts or scenarios, add new variables and equations, produce presentationquality graphics, download data into spreadsheets and other data-handling packages, as well as compare, map and graph data across countries and alternative scenarios, or build your own economic models.

Global Model Workstation

The Global Model Workstation is used alongside our Global Economic Model, and provides an enhanced set of features for exploring, visualising and exporting data from those scenarios which go beyond those found in the View and Download Data area of the Model. This functionality is provided through a modern, intuitive user interface which is shared with our online databanks.

Global Data Workstation

The Global Data Workstation provides access to our suite of macro, industry, and city databanks. This web-based software allows users to modify forecast frequency, time variables, and how the data are presented. Numbers may be represented as absolutes, percentages, and even differences between time periods. Searches can be saved for future reference and downloaded quickly as a spreadsheet or image. The Excel Data Workstation add-in allows users to select and access data directly within Excel.

Excel Data Workstation

The Excel Data Workstation is a simple but powerful add-in for accessing data from Oxford Economics directly within Excel. The tool forms a direct link from both our Global Data Workstation, which houses 19 databanks that provide economic data on 200 countries, 100 industries, and 3,000 cities, and the Global Model Workstation, an application for analysing user-driven forecasts and scenarios generated in the Global Economic Model.

Global Scenarios Workstation

The Global Scenarios Workstation is a user-friendly interface that allows the user to run scenarios from within the Global Model Workstation. Scenarios include our baseline forecast and a number of potential global risks for the world economy that are regularly generated by our economists using our Global Economic Model. The tool also allows users to upload and run their own custom scenarios.
