Nordic outlook: A difficult winter ahead

Rory is an Economist in the European Macro Forecasting team, where he publishes research and analysis on the eurozone and Nordic economies. He is responsible for our forecast coverage for Norway, Denmark, Croatia and Albania. He also helps in presenting our Global Risk Service to clients and prospects.

Rory joined Oxford Economics in September 2020 after graduating from the University of Exeter with a first-class BSc in Economics. While at university, he completed an industrial placement year at Oxford Economics in our Latin American Macro Forecasting team. His undergraduate dissertation focused on the drivers of currency crises in emerging markets with floating exchange rates.

Lawrence Harper-Scott is a senior economist, he primarily produces forecasts for regions in the Nordics and Central & Eastern Europe. Before joining Oxford Economics Lawrence graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Economics.

Alexandra is a Lead Economist on the Industry team where she is responsible for sectoral forecasts for the chemicals and pharmaceuticals industry and helps develop the team’s view on the global industrial outlook. She has also supported macroeconomic consulting projects such as developing scenario analyses for Accenture. Her role also involves contributing to bespoke industry consulting projects across a range of sectors such as chemicals, machinery, and energy.

Prior to joining Oxford Economics, Alexandra worked as an economic consultant for Cornerstone Research for over two years. At Cornerstone Research, she was involved in conducting qualitative research and quantitative analyses to support expert testimony in high-stakes litigation cases across a variety of sectors including energy, pharmaceuticals, and financial markets. Alexandra holds an MPhil in Economics from Oxford University and a BSc in Economics from the University of Mannheim. Alexandra is fluent in English and German.

Daniel Kral is a Senior Economist within the macroeconomics forecasting division of Oxford Economics. He joined Oxford Economics in April 2021 in London and leads the coverage of the Nordic region. Daniel holds a Master of Research from University College London where his thesis won the Frank Carter prize for the best post-graduate thesis in 2014.
