George Armitage

Using his extensive contacts and network across the various commercial real estate sectors, George concentrates his time looking after Oxford’s key real estate clients across EMEA while also responsible for delivering new services to the real estate sector. Clients vary between lenders, institutional investors, broker and advisory firms, fund managers, private equity firms and hotel chains. 

Prior to joining Oxford Economics George worked for Real Capital Analytics (RCA) in the capital market sector concentrating on investment sales and global capital flows.

Before RCA George worked for CoStar/PPR working closely with UK brokers and investors. He is a member of the OHPC and Young Industry Leaders Programme.

Charles Burton

Charles Burton joined Oxford Economics in April 2008 as the Director of Business Development and is currently the company's Executive Director. He is also a fellow and council member of the Society of Business Economists and non-executive Chairman of the Sofia Property Fund, an AIM-listed real estate fund, as well as a member of the Scottish Government's Economic Consultants Advisory Group.

Charles has had a long career in business economics. He was an economist for Beecham Pharmaceuticals, before joining the Confederation of British Industry in 1975. At the CBI, he ran the company's business surveys and economic forecasting teams. As Deputy Director of Economics, he was later responsible for the CBI's economic policy representations. Between 1985 and 1988, he was in charge of the economic forecasting and consultancy business of Wharton Econometrics (now part of IHS Global Insight) in the UK and Europe. In 1988, he was CEO and one of the founding directors of Business Strategies Ltd, a leading independent forecasting and consulting operation. After its acquisition by Experian in 2002, he was the global managing director for the company's Business Strategies division.

Pierre Delage

Pierre Delage joined Oxford Economics in 2004 as an economist. He has been responsible for forecasting European and Asian economies within the European and Emerging Market teams. He was also involved in a broader forecast round of smaller economies.

 

Now based in Paris, Pierre is in charge of developing Oxford Economics activities in France, Belgium and Iberia.

Pierre is a graduate of the Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris, a leading French Grande Ecole, where he followed a major in Finance. After that, he had a short experience at Arthur Andersen and a one-year job as a Financial Analyst in the internet division of the French conglomerate Vivendi Universal in Paris.

He then chose to turn to macroeconomics by pursuing a MSc in Macroeconomics from Paris-Dauphine University, where he focused on the concepts of macroeconomic equilibrium and fundamental exchange rate. Pierre also holds a BA in Philosophy from the Paris-Sorbonne University.

Jeremy Eagle joined Oxford Economics in June 2012 as Global Marketing Director.

Jeremy started his career at the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), where he filled a number of commercial roles over a 15-year period in London and New York, mostly notably as Global Marketing Director responsible for the promotion of subscriptions and Economist Conferences.  Prior to joining Oxford, Jeremy was head of sales and marketing for Oxford Analytica, and also worked for Pitney Bowes as Vice President of Global Marketing.  He has a BA in Spanish and French from Exeter University and an MSc in International Business from Birkbeck College, University of London.

Richard Epstein is Oxford Economics’ Director of Business Development for New England and New York State.

Since 1987, Richard has specialised in matching the research and commercial needs of multinational companies and major educational institutions with the special capabilities of globally respected organisations such as Institutional Investor, Business Week, the Economist Intelligence Unit and, most recently, The Financial Times.

He has helped to define and deliver data-based solutions to executives in economics, marketing and strategic planning for companies in a range of industries including financial services, information technology and professional services. Richard studied Classical Civilizations and minored in Economics at New York University.

Corinna Hoyer oversees all business activity within the German speaking and Eastern European region.

Prior to joining Oxford Economics Corinna gained extensive international experience working in Cairo and Jakarta, where she supported the government and leading businesses in promoting investment opportunities abroad. She acted as a Junior Advisor to the Russia and CIS Committee of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and worked for a leading Indonesian consultancy focusing on market-entry strategies and PPPs.
This allowed her to gain experience in consultancy and research as well as in business development.
Corinna holds a BSc in Geography with Economics from the London School of Economics and a joint MA degree in European Politics and International Relations from the University of Bath, Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (SciencesPo) and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Corinna is fluent in English, German, and French.

Prior to working at Oxford Economics Frances worked in contract publishing and advertising with a number of leading international media brands. She has extensive global experience with business partnerships and sales in the publishing industry across Europe, Africa, and Latin America. She has also worked with Informa Plc. Frances is currently undertaking a Global MBA with Manchester Business School with a focus on international business strategy and mentors students through the Manchester Gold mentorship programme. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manchester and also speaks Spanish, and Italian.

Erica joined the team in September 2010. Adam Sacks is the founder and President of Oxford Economics’ Tourism Economics division. Adam came to Oxford Economics from Global Insight, where he began its travel & tourism consulting practice. Adam has worked with over 50 tourism offices throughout the world.

Adam has advised destinations on tourism investment policy, entry procedures, tourism taxation, and marketing strategies. He has provided destinations with analysis on market positioning and emerging opportunities. Adam is an authority on measuring the economic impact of tourism activity and has implemented the UN-methodology for measuring the tourism sector (Tourism Satellite Accounts) for over 20 destinations.

Adam has consulted with multinational hotel chains, airlines, aircraft manufacturers, theme parks, resort developers, and retail operators to measure current and future market opportunities. He has presented to numerous corporate strategic planning teams on the threats and opportunities facing their businesses within the projected travel and economic climate. He is experienced in developing custom systems for quantifying tourism-market segment opportunities and has developed tourism forecasting models with exceptional track records. Adam is a regular conference speaker on issues related to tourism market analysis, the economic impact of tourism and travel-demand forecasting.

Peter Suomi is the head of Oxford’s San Francisco office, and oversees all business activity in the western US and Canada.

Peter has an extensive background in economic and research publishing, throughout the world. Previously, he worked at the Economist Intelligence Unit for seven years, from offices in New York, Australia, Singapore, and India. In his most recent role, he was responsible for all business development and strategic partnerships in South and Southeast Asia, and served as the regional head for the EIU’s client research practice in Asia. He was also instrumental in the opening of the EIU’s offices in Sydney and Delhi. Peter received his MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on global management, and his BA in economics and political science from the University of Michigan.

David joined Oxford Economics after spending 11 years at The Economist Group, firstly as Vice President, Europe, Middle East & Africa for the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), then more recently as Managing Director, Middle East & Africa, in which role he oversaw all Economist Group businesses in these regions. Serving as Publisher of The Economist, Economist.com, Intelligent Life and The World In, he also had responsibility for Economist Conferences, Economist Corporate Network and the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). Prior to The Economist Group he spent five years at Thomson Scientific.

Jens Tholstrup joined Oxford Economics in 2010 and is currently Managing Director for the UK.

From 2000 to 2010, Jens was Executive Director of Oxford Analytica, where he was a member of the management team, and as Director of Consultancy, he supervised many of the firm’s key client relationships and was responsible for Business and Financial Markets coverage. He acted as Project Director and advisor for a number of major assignments. Prior to joining Oxford Analytica, he worked in investment banking in London and Tokyo for over 20 years, principally on capital markets, leveraged finance, and corporate finance with a particular focus on financial institutions. Jens began his career at Credit Suisse White Weld (now CSFB) before moving to Hill Samuel & Co and then to become an Executive Director at SG Warburg/UBS Warburg. Jens holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford.

Neil Walker works in the business development team in New York focusing on east coast corporate strategy and human resource end users.

Neil initially joined Oxford Economics in September 2001 as part of the data team before heading to the University of Manchester, where he achieved a first class BSc in Economics and Econometrics. He then worked in various financial roles where he became a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He previously worked as an economist in the Macroeconomics Forecasting Service with responsibilities including the monitoring and forecasting the economies in Asia and was also part of the Global Scenario Service team.
